When building a Knowledge Quiz, you set the passing score that candidates need to achieve to move on in the screening process. And though tempting, it is generally not advisable to require a 100% passing score.
The reasons are complex and varied, but generally fall into two categories: 1. It would screen out qualified candidates, and 2. Can drastically restrict applicant flow.
On the first point, there may be numerous reasons why an exceptional candidate failed to get a perfect score. Perhaps it was an errant mouse click. Maybe the candidate saw subtleties in the questions and response options that lead to different potentially correct answers. Could be a slight language barrier. Or maybe the cat walked across the keyboard at the wrong time. Regardless, setting the passing score at a level where a minimally competent person would pass is advisable.
Secondly, setting too high of a pass score could lead to too few people moving on in the hiring process. If not enough candidates are making it past the Knowledge Quiz, it may be necessary to lower the pass point to improve applicant flow.
