Stage 1, or the Criteria stage, is the starting point for any candidate applying to your jobs. The below screenshot shows you a series of tiles, each representing a category of basic qualifications that you can optionally set for each job.
Here is a brief explanation of each tile.

Ask the candidate if they have or agree to the basic requirements of the job, such as having a driver's license or be willing to submit to a background check. |
![]() |
Do you require the candidate to have a certain degree and/or certification, such as a CPA? Define them here. |
![]() |
Where is the job located? We'll make sure the candidate understands this and is willing to work there. Or, if it's a telecommute job, we'll confirm that as well. |
![]() |
If the job requires a certain amount of travel, lets make sure the applicants understand and are willing to do that. Don't waste time if there isn't alignment. |
![]() |
Specify language (and proficiency levels) the candidates are required to speak and understand. |
![]() |
If the candidate's compensation expectations are way out of line, they will not progress in the hiring process. Compensation is never shared with the candidates; rather, we ask the candidate for their expectations and, if they are not aligned, we will disqualify the candidate immediately. |
![]() |
Specify the hard skills the candidate is expected to have on Day 1 when starting the job. Do not specify skills that the candidate will learn while on the job. |
![]() |
Test the candidate's knowledge on hard skills. Quizzes can be timed and passing scores can be set. |
